What I will do
I will check every single mark on the page! I offer a full range of technical editing services for any knitting pattern with any stitch.
I am comfortable working with PDFs, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, or any other format you prefer. I consider myself approachable and friendly, so I am fairly informal in my communications. I am happy to use any platform that is easiest for you, including email, Discord, Instagram messages, or voice notes. No matter the preference, I will always send a confirmation email with a summary of suggestions and updates.
Once you have contacted me and we have confirmed working together—yay!—I will send you a document (or a voice recording if preferred) with more information, such as invoicing, confirming your document choice and communication preferences, and asking about any specifics. I am flexible, so if there is anything listed that does not work for you or anything additional I haven't included, just let me know and I will accommodate you.
My first check is proofreading and copyediting, including but not limited to:
• Written text for spelling and grammar
• Terminology consistency, including abbreviations
• Yarn, notions, and tools are present
• Instructions and style flow are simple and precise
The second check will be the detailed number checks, including but not limited to:
• Stitch count is correct for size and fit
• Conversions work
• Grading is accurate
• Gauge matches finished measurements
• Yarn requirements make sense
I will also cross-reference any schematics, charts, or style guides you provide with the pattern to ensure they match the written instructions.

Pricing
I charge $40 AUD ($30 USD, €25, £25) per hour, in 30-minute increments with a minimum of one hour. The final pre-release check, post-test knit (if any), where the pattern is complete and in PDF form ready to be published, is free of charge.
The earlier in the pattern design process you reach out, the easier it will be for both of us! I am able to complete rush jobs at a higher rate—the price will depend on the timeframe you need, contact me to discuss further.

Please don’t let this guide scare you! Many variables that will impact the cost are pattern-specific. I can provide a more accurate quote if you need one. However, generally, the more information you provide me, the quicker and, in turn, cheaper it will be. I will also provide you with an optional checklist to complete that can both decrease your cost and help me help you!
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. As I mentioned, I am flexible and want your pattern to be the best it can be.
I look forward to hearing from you and collaborating!
